Pierre Lachaier will continue to work on Lohana texts translated from Gujarati. His research will be published in book form in 2008. Another volume may be published in 2009. Fieldwork will be need to be undertaken in Gujarat and Mumbai prior to the publication of a study on the Lohana and pharmaceutical products.

The Nadar and their Detergent Firms

At one time considered to be almost untouchable, the Nadar community from Tamil Nadu have become skilful merchants and are now active in all the state's major agglomerations. Pierre Lachaier intends to work on putting the notes he took in missions accomplished in the last four-year period. In view of the current state of his research, further fieldwork, coordinated by the Pondicherry Centre, will be required.
