P. Rasmi

P. Rasmi is currently working as a researcher on the DiPiKA project (‘Digital Preservation of Kerala Archives’), led by Hugo David and funded by Arcadia. Within the project, she is primarily involved in identifying private collections of manuscripts on palm-leaf manuscripts in the Thrissur region (monasteries, ancestral homes, temples, etc.), compiling inventories of these collections, and carrying out detailed cataloguing and the physical conservation of the digitised collections.

At the same time, P. Rasmi is currently completing her PhD thesis at the University of Calicut, under the supervision of Prof. N.K. Sundareswaran. Her thesis focuses on the treatise entitled Āryabhaṭīyabhāṣya by Ghaṭigopa, a Malayalam commentary on the Āryabhaṭīya, a seminal text in Indian astronomy probably composed in the 5th century. With this editorial project, based on several South Indian manuscripts, Rasmi is contributing to the particularly dynamic field of studies on classical Indian mathematical texts in Kerala.
