M.S. Sreeja

M.S. Sreeja is currently working as a researcher on the DiPiKA project (‘Digital Preservation of Kerala Archives’), led by Hugo David and funded by Arcadia. Within the project, she is primarily involved in identifying private collections of ôle manuscripts in the Thrissur region (monasteries, ancestral homes, temples, etc.), compiling inventories of these collections, and carrying out detailed cataloguing and the physical conservation of the digitised collections.

At the same time, she has begun a study, based on manuscripts discovered as part of the project, of the *Vilvamāhātmya*, a text recounting the legend of the Thiruvilvamala temple in Kerala, in the Thrissur district. This temple is particularly famous for its role in the textile trade between Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Sreeja is working primarily on a manuscript of this text held in the permanent collection of the Kerala Manuscript Preservation Centre (KMPC), currently administered by the EFEO in collaboration with the Vedic Research Centre in Thrissur and the authorities of the Vadakke Madham Brahmaswam.
