The Fudan-EFEO Research Centre for Humanities is hosting a new installment of the series « Rethinking Sinology, Expanding the Humanities: Area Studies in the Face of Paradigm Shifts, » organized in a hybrid format in collaboration with INALCO.

After earning a Ph.D. in the history and semiotics of text and image from Paris-Cité University, Wang Ruiqi is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the School of Humanities at Tongji University, where he is developing a project on intellectual exchanges between France and China in the mid-20th century in the field of the humanities. He will speak on the topic « An Unexpected Encounter: Chinese Scholars and the French School of the Far East in Hanoi. »

The lecture will be given in Chinese.
