From 13 to 17 September, the EFEO Chiang Mai Centre welcomed Jérôme Lopez and Xavier Garcia from ARFI (Association for the Research into Imaginary Folklore), as part of a project in partnership with Alliance Française de Bangkok.
During their stay, they led two audiovisual workshops with 14 students from the Design programme, Faculty of Fine Arts, Chiang Mai University.
Through sound, photography, everyday objects, and moving images, the students explored creative ways of combining image and music to produce a live audiovisual performance using ARFI’s portable “Video Mallette”.
On 16 September, the students’ work was presented as the opening performance of the “French Touch” ciné-concert, bringing together experimentation, creativity, music, and visual expression.
