During French minister Mr Edouard Philippe's official trip to Beijing, Guillaume Dutournier (in charge of Efeo's Beijing center) has assisted the prime minister during two visits on June the 25th : a private tour of the Confucius Temple, the Imperial Academy, as well as a tour of the Temple of heaven alongside the french delegation. The visit of these iconic symbols of chinese imperial history enabled the exposition of EFEO's academic cooperations with its local partners throughout China. Furthermore, it also provided an opportunity to emphasize on the importance of a long-term field presence, in order to improve our understanding of China. (photo credits AFP)

On 22nd-24th June 2018 an international conference was held in Wuhan to present recent research in Manuscript Studies from Han to Tang, with the title Han-Tang xieben wenhua yanjiu 漢唐寫本文化研究. The conference was fundend by Wuhan University, and organized by Professor ZHONG Shulin, with the collaboration of Costantino MORETTI who coordinated the participation of foreign researchers. The talks were held at the School of Chinese Language and Literature of Wuhan University, where scholars from various institutions reported on their recent research. Presentations concerned specific subjects, with focus on the study of ancient and medieval Chinese manuscripts. READ MORE
