The celebration of the newly completed restoration of the Baphuon Temple by the EFEO on July 3 was presided by His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, and the French Prime Minister François Fillon, in the presence of Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, and Franciscus Verellen, Director of the EFEO. Pascal Royère, head of the Baphuon restoration project, Dominique Soutif, head of the EFEO Center in Siam Reap, and Jacques Gaucher, archaeologist of the Khmer capital Angkor Thom, presented the restored temple to the official delegations.
