Lancement du projet ERC VOICES : réunion inaugurale

Structurée autour de trois axes – Hints, Probes et Directions –, cette réunion réunira des spécialistes internationaux des traditions chantées (pāṭṭu), afin d’explorer leurs formes performatives, poétiques et musicales, ainsi que les enjeux méthodologiques, épistémologiques et éthiques liés à leur étude et à leur documentation. Elle s’ouvrira par un mot d’accueil de Dominic Goodall et se conclura par une table ronde.

Cette réunion marquera le lancement des activités scientifiques du projet ERC VOICES, démarré le 1er janvier 2026, auquel l’EFEO participera en tant qu’institution partenaire. Depuis le Centre de Pondichéry, S. A. S. Sarma sera un membre actif du projet. Il mènera des travaux consacrés à l’exploration et à l’étude du corpus des littératures pāṭṭu, conduira en 2026 des enquêtes de terrain auprès des récitateurs de Brāhmaṇipāṭṭu (notamment à Kumaranallur, Kerala), de Sarpampāṭṭu et de Kaṇṇeru Pāṭṭu (district de Kannur), procédera à une collecte préliminaire de données relatives aux Toṟṟampāṭṭus, et analysera les matériaux recueillis en vue de la préparation d’éditions ou d’éditions critiques, partielles ou complètes, selon l’état de la documentation disponible.
