Peter Pasedach a soutenue sa thèse, intitulée « Bhagavatstutivarṇana or the Description of the Praise of the Divine. A Critical Edition of Text and Commentaries, and Annotated Translation of the Sixth Canto of Ratnākara’s Haravijaya », à l'université de Hambourg le 2 février 2018 et a obtenu la mention summa cum laude. Grâce à des bourses de l'EFEO, il a pu profiter de séjours d'étude au Centre de Pondichéry pour son travail doctoral, qui a été achevé sous la direction de Harunaga Isaacson (Hambourg) et Dominic Goodall. Eva Wilden était également membre du jury.
