Ben Williams defended his doctoral thesis, titled “Abhinavagupta's Portrait of a Guru: Revelation and Religious Authority in Kashmir” at the Department of South Asian Studies at Harvard on 12th July 2017. Thanks to a Fulbright-Nehru Scholarship, he was able to spend a year based at the Pondicherry Centre of the EFEO, and Dominic Goodall, who was an advisor for his doctoral work, participated by videoconference in the viva.
