  • 9.30-11 a.m. morning reading session I: Paripāṭal (first two weeks; Indra Manuel), Kaliṅkattuparaṇi (last two weeks; G. Vijayavenugopal)
  • 11-11.30 a.m. (coffee break)
  • 11.30 a.m.-1p.m. morning reading session II: discussion of the morning's text portion 
  • 1-3 p.m. (lunch break)
  • 3-4.30 p.m. parallel afternoon reading sessions: 1. Mērumatarappurāṇam (first two weeks; K. Nachimuthu) 2. ??? (first and second week; N.N.). 3. Kuṟuntokai (third and fourth week; Eva Wilden) 4. Kamparāmāyaṇam (third and fourth week; Thomas Lehmann)

Mini Classical Tamil Winter Seminar (CTWS)
Pondicherry, India, 19 January 2021
From 1-5 March 2021 the team of the Tamil Cankam project at the EFEO centre in Pondicherry will conduct a miniature Classical Tamil Winter Seminar in order to read the Kalittokai, one of the Cankam anthologies that have been critically re-edited recently. The text represents the apex of the earlier type of sophisticated poetry, and matters are further complicated by the highly influential medieval commentary by Naccinārkkiṉiyar.
