Ecole française d’Athènes
The Ecole française d'Athènes is a scholarly, cultural and professional establishment under the authority of the French Ministry for Higher Education and Research. It has a fundamental mission for research and research training in all disciplines relating to Ancient Greece and Greece in the Byzantine period, as well as the study of Greece and Balkan countries in Medieval, Modern and Contemporary history. Providing a venue for scholarly exchanges in these fields, the EfA welcomes high-level members, researchers and teacher-researchers as well as scholarship funded students. It has been in existence since 1846.
