Religion in action: Islam and politics in Southeast Asia

After Epigraphy (2009) and Archaeometallurgy (2011), the Siem Reap Conference on Special Topics in Khmer Studies (sr costiks) organised jointly by the APSARA, Ecole française d’Extrême-Orient, Center for Khmer Studies and University of Sydney. It takes place at the Apsara Authority buildings from 9th to 11th June 2012.

Visit of the Director to Myanmar

From June 8 to 13, at the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Thierry Mathou, French Ambassador to Myanmar, Franciscus Verellen is taking part in a multidisciplinary visit to Myanmar, proposed jointly by the Ministries of Foreign and European Affairs, of Culture and Communication (General Directorate of National Heritages), and of Higher Education and Research (represented by the EFEO), with a view to studying prospects for cooperation in matters of conservation, restoration, development, and training in heritage-related fields. The Director is to be accompanied by Pascal Royère, Director of Studies, and Jacques Leider, specialist of the history of Myanmar and head of the EFEO Centres of Chiang May (Thailand) and Yangon (Myanmar).
