On June 3, at the Palais de l'Institut, a ceremony is being held for the
signing of the Constitutive Charter of the Public Interest Group
(Groupement d'intérêt public - GIP) ECAF, with the support of the
Ministry of Higher Education and Research and under the patronage of the
Academy of Inscriptions and Belles Lettres.
Founded by the EFEO in 2007 with the aim of increasing opportunities for
European scholarly institutions to carry out fieldwork in Asia, the
European Consortium for Asian Field study (ECAF) is incorporating in
2013 as an autonomous legal entity under French. Within the new GIP
ECAF, 28 French and international partner institutions,
both public and private, collaborate to develop joint research and
mobility programs, as well as pooling resources and infrastructure.
