The French President, François Hollande, accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Laurent Fabius, visited Laos on 5 November 2012 to attend the 9th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). On this occasion, he met with Yves Goudineau, head of the EFEO Centre in Vientiane, who presented the work of the EFEO in Laos and offered the President a copy of « New research on Laos » (edited by Y. Goudineau and M. Lorrillard). The President enquired about the regional projects conducted by the EFEO and welcomed the European dimension of the School's activities.
