After closing for two months, the Hanoi centre reopened its doors to students and readers. As a precaution against the coronavirus epidemic, the library stopped admitting readers on 10 March 2020 and, with the lockdown imposed by the Vietnamese government, the centre closed from 1-22 April 2020. The centre can reopen now as Vietnam has had no new cases of coronavirus community transmission for 25 days. This week too, for the first time since 14 January, the students attending Andrew Hardy’s seminar leave their virtual room on zoom to meet at the centre.
