The toponyms and local history of the areas around Rùm Đồn fort (Nghia Hanh and Tu Nghia districts) and Tân Long Thượng fort (Mộ Đức, Ba Tơ) are the subject of a survey conducted by the team made up of Andrew Hardy, Nguyễn Tiễn Đông, Đào Thế Đức and Federico Barocco. Interviews in several communes of Ba Tơ district aim to learn more of the recent history of the Hrê ethnic group.
