Dr Marco Franceschini (Research Fellow, University of Bologna) is visiting the Pondicherry Centre of the EFEO for three months (from 25th September to 24th December 2012) to carry on a research on Grantha script in manuscripts. He is currently cataloguing all "letter" combinations (conjuncts, clusters, ligatures, etc.) that are found in some selected manuscripts, mainly belonging to the EFEO collection. He is also reading grantha manuscript colophons with Dr. R. Satyanarayana (EFEO) and Pandit Varada Desikan (EFEO).
