On the occasion of the Pondicherry Heritage Festival, the Centre invites you to a lecture on "Archaeology in Auroville" by Aurotaranti Maiolini (Auroville Museum of Archaeology, Program Coordinator) at 4.30 pm on Friday, 10 March 2023 in the Library Hall of the EFEO, 19, Dumas Street, Pondicherry.
Join Auroville Archaeology as we uncover the rich history of the Auroville region. From a large Iron Age Megalithic site to a Neolithic to Late Chola Period site, our excavations have revealed significant finds dating back centuries. With the help of archaeologists from India, Italy, the US and Germany, we have safeguarded this national heritage and created an Archaeological Park for visitors to explore. Our meticulous documentation and digital archiving ensure that this knowledge is shared with the academic community. Come and discover the fascinating past of Auroville with us.
