Marine Schoettel, an MA student from the EPHE (École Pratique des Hautes Études) and EFEO scholar arrived on 20th July to spend 2 months at the Pondicherry Centre of the EFEO to work on her project entitled “For a pluridisciplinary approach to religious life in Java during the Majapahit period (1294–1500 ce): between material culture, epigraphy and didactic texts”.  She is participating in Sanskrit reading sessions in the Centre and, with R. Sathyanarayanan, she is studying passages of Pādmapurāṇa that describe the festival of Śiva-rātri.
