Martin Nogueira Ramos has coedited, with Hiraoka Ryūji (University of Kyoto), a volume on the history of Catholicism and Hidden Christianity in the mountains of Ibaraki Region (in today’s Osaka Prefecture); it comprises four essays that cover the history of this community from the second half of the 16th century to the 20th century. The volume also includes the translation into Japanese of five letters penned by Marin Plessis between 1879 and 1882, the French missionary who discovered these Hidden Christians.
