Joseph Skarbek (1879-1961) : la voie ferrée Kaifeng - Luoyang 1906-1909
A selection of 80 of the 500 photographs taken by Joseph Skarbek in the course of his stay in province of Henan (Central China) form 1906 to 1909.
The pictures are remarkable for their artistic qualities, and they also constitute a valuable historical record of the modern era in this region, which had been only visited by a few archaeological expeditions at that time.
The online exhibition is divided into three sections: Skarbek's work as an engineer, as an artist, and as an amateur anthropologist.

Library: Inventory via Calames

In parallel with their publication on the EFEO's archive platform, the inventories of the archives of the Angkor Conservation Office are now available on Calames.You will find documents from the general administration of the department (including correspondence and management of the Angkor Park site), as well as the archives of the Angkor Conservation depot (inventories and correspondence). But also the archives that bear witness to research activities in the field, such as excavation reports and diaries, and graphic documents comprising some 3,500 plans and drawings.
