Fondation Jeunesse Internationale Scholarships

Under the auspices of the Fondation de France (the French Foundation), the Fondation Jeunesse Internationale (International Youth Foundation) endeavours to promote the cause of understanding between countries by financing study trips for young people. The scholarships are provided to reimburse part of the living expenses during periods of study at foreign universities, companies, and scientific and medical research organizations. Priority is given to studies and internships in developing countries.

Some of these scholarships are administered in partnership with the EFEO and may be granted to applicants who wish to visit EFEO centres in Asia to participate in digs and other archeological projects.

Applicants must be French nationals and under 35 years of age. With a view to facilitating more wide-ranging studies and comparative analyses between several countries, the foundation encourages students to visit countries that are different to the countries where they usually study.

The amount of funding varies in accordance with the duration of the period of study, the cost of living, the availability of accommodation in the country visited and the applicant's qualifications. The scholarship will cover part of the applicants living expenses and supplementary health insurance.
