
The Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole

At the invitation of Professor Chack-Fan LEE 李焯芬, Director of the Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole of the University of Hong Kong 香港大學饒宗頤學術館, Franciscus Verellen visits the new premises of this institution, named for the Petites écoles de Port-Royal. A reknowned scholar, poet and painter, Jao Tsung-I is an overseas member of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres and a former member of the Ecole Française d'Extrême-Orient. The Petite Ecole established in his honour in 2003 houses his library, paintings, calligraphy, and studio objects. Supported by the Jao Tsung-I Studies Foundation, it undertakes publications and organizes exhibitions and scholarly conferences.
