The École française d'Extrême-Orient (EFEO) and the Scuola Italiana di Studi sull'Asia Orientale (ISEAS) launched in November a new series of lectures in partnership with the Institute for Research in Humanities (Kyoto University).   

This series focuses on religious teaching and preaching in Early Modern Japan with the aim to promote dialogue among students and scholars doing research on Japanese religious history from different nationalities and institutional backgrounds.
 
For 2018-2019 six talks are on schedule, all in Japanese.

  The third talk will be held on the 8th of February at the Institute for Research in Humanities - Kyoto University (main building, seminar room 1)  with Martin Nogueira Ramos (EFEO) as a guest speaker.

失われたキリシタン民衆の声を求めて － 島原天草一揆後の排耶書を中心に －

講師：マルタン・ノゲラ・ラモス（フランス国立極東学院・准教授）  

島原天草一揆（1637-1638年）に関する近年の研究では宗門の面が注目されつつある。終末観・メシアニズム・敬神観に支えられ、最後まで激闘したキリシタン民衆は治世者に強い印象を残したのは間違いないであろう。その結果として、それ以前主として宣教師・上層部のキリシタンを対象としていた宗門改が、徐々に民衆の動向をも重要視するかたちで、飛躍的に整備されていった。 17世紀半ばの宗門改関係者は第二の「島原天草一揆」を防ぐため、外面的態度の取締りは不十分であり、内面的信仰も把握し、変質させるべきとの理解に至った。この点を明らかにすることは本発表の一つ目の目的である。二つ目は、当時のキリシタン信仰諸相を探ることである。そのため、従来の研究ではさほど重視されてこなかった多福寺（大分県・臨済宗妙心寺派）所蔵の排耶的史料群を取り上げる。  

マルタン・ノゲラ・ラモス
専攻は近世近代日本の宗教社会史。特に、九州のカトリックおよび潜伏キリシタンについて研究。2014年、パリ第七大学にて博士号を取得（日本史）。2016年9月―現在、准教授としてフランス国立極東学院に在籍。2017年3月よりフランス国立極東学院京都支部長。著書に『La Foi des ancêtres : chrétiens cachés et catholiques dans la société villageoise japonaise (17e-19e s.)』（CNRS éditions, 2019年4月）。
