To celebrate the inauguration of the new EFEO Centre in Kyoto in 2014, and place its activities in an heritage of scientific excelency and open intellectual exchanges, the EFEO launches a new annual conference series in the mémory of Anna Seidel, whom was first head of the EFEO Centre in Kyoto in 1968.

On February 26, Stephen
Teiser, D.T. Suzuki Professor in Buddhist Studies and Director
of the Program in East Asian Studies at Princeton University, was invited for the first Anna Seidel Memorial Lecture to give a talk on: "Translating Rituals: How the
Dedication of Merit Was Transmitted across Asia," at the Institute for Researches in Humanities, Kyoto University.
