PRESENTATION
Visit of Juliette Augerot in Southeast Asian countries for her PhD thesis

Juliette Augerot, doctoral student in geography from the University of Paul-Valéry (Montpellier III), studies the impacts of the classification of World Heritage by UNESCO about its sustainable development strategies in Southeast Asia. Between April and July 2014, she will visit Nakhon Si Thammarat, Luang Prabang, Siem Reap and then Sukhothai to identify actors in the sites and territorial policies engaging in the management and the touristic promotion of the world heritage. Additionally, the participation in an upcoming international symposium "Mémoire(s) et mondialisation" (Memory(ies) and Globalisation) on the theme "Tourisme, Mémoire, lieux: liens et interactions" (Tourism, Memory, Place: Relation and Interaction), on Septembre 8-10, 2014, at Le Chambon sur Lignon, France, would lead her to discuss more about the practices of locals and Asian visitors in this common heritage.
