International Conference on Manuscript Studies in Wuhan

On 22nd-24th June 2018 an international conference was held in Wuhan to present recent research in Manuscript Studies from Han to Tang, with the title Han-Tang xieben wenhua yanjiu 漢唐寫本文化研究. The conference was fundend by Wuhan University, and organized by Professor ZHONG Shulin, with the collaboration of Costantino MORETTI who coordinated the participation of foreign researchers. The talks were held at the School of Chinese Language and Literature of Wuhan University, where scholars from various institutions reported on their recent research. Presentations concerned specific subjects, with focus on the study of ancient and medieval Chinese manuscripts. READ MORE
12th DocAsie Day

Friday, June 8, Franciscus Verellen speaks on La stèle du Chenal de la puissance céleste et la naissance de la poudre noire en Chine at the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres. On this occasion, he presents the latest epigraphic discoveries collected on the Chinese coast of the Gulf of Tonkin (Guangxi) during a field mission in May 2018 on the remains of the channel dug by Gao Pian in 868, opening a supply route and trade between the Annam Protectorate and mainland China.
