Jacques Leider presented a paper entitled “The Rise of King Alaungmintaya (Burma/Myanmar, 1752-60) - Buddhist Constituents of a Political Metamorphosis” at the international conference Buddhist Narrative in Asia and beyond at Bangkok, Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel, organised by the Institute of Thai Studies, Chulalongkorn University, 9-11 August 2010. The paper was given in the panel: “The role of narrative in the localization of Buddhism”. The paper is due to be published in a conference volume in 2011.
