Peter Skilling

Peter Skilling is Maître de Conférences with the École française d’Extrême-Orient, Bangkok and Paris. He received his PhD (2004) and his Habilitation (2008) from Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes, Paris. He specializes in the history and literature of the Buddhism of South and South-East Asia. He has been visiting professor at Harvard, Oxford, Berkeley, Sydney, and the International Research Institute for Advanced Buddhology, Soka University. He is Special Lecturer at Chulalongkorn University and Honorary  Associate, Department  of  Indian Sub Continental  Studies, University of Sydney. In 2009 he was awarded the Ikuo Hirayama Prize from the Académie des Inscriptions et Belle-Lettres, Paris for his work in general and the publication Wat Si Chum, Sukhothai (Bangkok, 2008).
