Teaching: Seminar on Buddhism
05 NOVEMBER 10
Teaching:
The Tokyo Centre organizes a seminar of Buddhism designed for foreign students and young researchers living in or near Tokyo. It is held in principle twice a month with the participation of five or six students. They analyse the text of the Ōjō yōshū 往生要集 by Genshin 源信 (942-1017) and try to translate it and the professor researches its sources. The seminar is an initiation to the Buddhist kanbun 漢文. It is conducted in Japanese, English and French. Good degree in Japanese is minimum requirement.

On the other hand, we invite time to time professors from exterior; this allows the students to enlarge their fields of interests, and coming in contact with the Japanese academic world.
