Jacques P.
Leider obtient son doctorat à l'Institut national des
langues et civilisations orientales en 1998 avec une thèse sur
« Le royaume d'Arakan (Birmanie) : son histoire politique
entre le début du XVe et la fin du XVIIe siècle ». Nommé membre de
l'EFEO en 2001, il prend en charge l'antenne nouvellement créée de
l'École à Yangon (Myanmar). Ses recherches portent sur l'étude de
l'historiographie birmane et arakanaise, ainsi que sur les relations
culturelles et politiques entre l'ancien royaume d'Arakan et la vallée
de l'Irrawaddy.
